Imperial and 15mm fittings

Is it possible to seal with a 15mm Yorkshire fitting on an imperial pipe?

Yes. It's the 22mm that's a bit trickier.

Yes, 15mm and 1/2" (nominal bore) pipe are virtually identical.

But 22mm and 3/4" are not. You can use compression fittings with special olives, but not 22mm Yorkshire on 3/4" pipe.

Quick hack that will let you get away with it needs must:

Use a standard pipe cutter on a end feed 22mm straight fitting. Run it round the fitting a couple of mm in from the end. Not enough to cut through it, but enough to put a dent in it. Now repeat a little further up the fitting. This will reduce the diameter of the fitting enough to make a good join. Use a little more solder than usual when making the joint.

You can get 3/4" to 22mm yorkshires though.
