That is new to me. I don't think you have a positive thought in your head.

I don't think you have a thought of any description in your head.

Look at the facts;

Tim S - respected member of the group.

Drivel - well known k*****ad.

Go figure.

Perhaps I should get some of whatever they have you on?

Thank you - but I think there are others here far more deserving of such accolade. For heavens sake don't google for some of the crap I wrote in past years!

Actually - I do like Drivel - he's definitely one of a kind.

Cheers

Tim

You really should sort that leak, then.

Wonder which fable you got that from?

Go back to reading and believing your adverts, cretin. This is a group for adults.

A bit more than that. Lighter bodies, smaller lighter motors (we now have solid state motor in wheel hubs), full reclaim of kinetic brake energy, computers to control all aspects...and smaller lighter batteries.

Full electric cars are feasible right now. All it needs is a lightweight dedicated body designed around the electric mechanicals and they are here.

However, improvement in supercapacitors can take them even further, either by using them to compliment chemical batteries, or if advances progress further, use them in place of batteries.

The future for city cars will be a toss between full electric with supercapacitors and an a car run on compressed air.

great thing about compressed air tanks and supercapacitors, is that they do not wear out and will outlast the vehicle.

All this is available NOW!!!!!

Dystopian futures, part 9234.5

"Sorry I'm late, got a virus in my front offside wheel motor controller. Close thing - almost got me this time."

And the dreadful thing about compressed air is a) it gets hot when you compress it; b) it gets cold when you uncompress it; c) unless you retain the heat from a) you have a problem with b); d) if you overcome c) by insulating the container, the pressure quickly becomes far too high and hot for safe and sensible use. Losses in air systems are significant - it is not a very efficient system.

And the dreadful thing about electric cars is the lack of electrical generation capacity (even if supercapacitors and superbatteries were available today). Seems we are currently on a knife-edge of supply. So where is the additional electricity going to come from? Surely not PV in mid-winter) when there is barely enough energy in the sunshine to clear ice off the windscreen)?

Typical lie by you. The one thing which is certain is how Dave makes his living. You, on the other hand...

Indeed. The electric car lovers seem incapable of realising what is an acceptable range for most let alone considering the implications of everyone using them.

It's rather like saying when gas runs out lets all heat our houses with electricity - after all most houses are already wired for it.

Read the links and look at how it works. It is not a bench project, it works. TAT in India, large corporation, are involved. A little for you:

The operation:

modes:

Mode A: Operating with compressed air from Air Tank only. In town under 35 mph.

Mode B: Operating with compressed air from Air Tank only, which is being heated to expand volume before entering engine.

Mode C: Operating with air from the Intake, which is being heated to expand volume before entering engine - on motorway over 35 mph.

Mode D: Operating as in Mode C but also refilling Air Tank while running usinga fossil fuel compressor.

Mode B, If the air is being heated by a petro heater the efficiency of the continuous burn can be 90% plus with minimum emissions.

Mode D, is using a compressor to charge the tank. Modes C & D are motorway driving for speed/range. In normal commuter driving, Mode A charges from the house mains, is cheap and emission free on running. This will clean up cities no end.

As electric vehicles come online the power infrastructure will increase too. You don't get 12 million electric cars on the roads in 6 months, they filter in and the government reacts to suit.
