How to stop a door from opening fully?

Perhaps you hadn't drunk as much as I had!

Or not as old.

Or not as affected by the atmosphere :-)

I can't stand the pain with these string and glue solutions. What you want is a door stay - I can't remember exactly what it is called, but it is like a long steel strip with a slot cut into it - this fits on top of the door. one end is fixed, and there is a fixing part way along the slot into the frame so that when the door is opened, the sliding fixing allows the strip to swing out until it hits the end, when the door can't open further. Someone will know what they're called.

I think I've seen what you mean now you mention it. I'll have a scrounge round the local hardware stores (and check all the doors at work ;)
