How many courses?

How many courses of bricks in a 9inch wall can a bricky build without the mortar squeesing out on the lower courses due to the increasing weight. . Is there a CP clause to limit the number of courses in a given time. Regards Don

With cement based mortar I don't think there is a limit really. It sets well enough so quickly. Proper lime mortar on the other hand needs longer or it does creep.

Well it depends on how fast you lay, and on how heavy and porous the bricks are.

Laying with porous brick, so much water is sucked out of the mortar that its ends up mechanically like laying on a sand bed. No movement at all. And hope the air is wet enough to set the stuff. OTOH a wet mix and stone or concrete really squidges badly..but if the course is long enough, and the weather warm enough, the mortar on the course two below what you are working on will be set enough to be stable by the time you get round to the third course.
