Hot water problem...

Newly fitted GFCH system with Glow Worm 24cxi boiler. CH is fine, the hot water (with the boiler on the recommended ECO setting or even turned up to maximum) will be at a sufficient temperature downstairs, but for the two hot taps (sink and bath) upstairs the water only comes out lukewarm, even whilst running the tap for a while, the temperature remains constant. Also, if both these taps are turned on fully, the water will only come out of the bath tap, which is the lowest fitted. What could be the problem, and how to rectify?

The second part of your problem re your bathtaps is down to the lower flow rate of a combi boiler. The only true way to get lashings of hot water all over the house is to fit a hot water storage cylinder. As for the water coming out lukewarm,it may be that there is an excessively long run to these taps,or the pipework passes through a cold area,eg underfloors etc. Perhaps you need to add foam lagging to the outlet /drawoff runs from the combi?

Sounds like a mains pressure problem. Is the cold tap giving a decent delivery? What flow-rate are you getting? Also, what is the temp reading on the boiler during DHW demand? If you have a thermometer, mesure the temp of the mains cold and then the hot, you should be getting at least a 40 degree rise.

Who installed & commissioned the boiler?
