Hand pumps and BSPF connectors

Hello -

I'm thinking of buying one of these hand pumps for transferring diesel (about 50 litres per week) between 2 smallish (500 litre) diesel storage tanks:

smallest model with 1/2" BSPF fittings)

The "head" and "lift" are each about 1 metre in my case.

Does anyone have any comments of the practicality of this? Also, will garden hose be suitable, and can anyone tell me what kind of adaptors, if any, I should buy to connect garden hose to this pump? I've sent an enquiry to the website, but I'd appreciate any comments.

A small electric unit might be less work - I think Machine Mart do an electric fuel transfer pump.
