Ha ha they cannot even get this right

Scammers take note of the obvious problems in this email to me.

Hello!

You may be sceptical about this email due to the proliferation of Internet scam. And notable amongst these scam is the "lottery scam", which is wide spread. The victims are mostly ignorant of the fact that, a lottery prize cannot be won without the purchase of a lottery ticket. Also, a genuine lottery company does not demand any fee/fees from its winners before releasing prizes to the winners. Even if the prize cheque needs to be couriered to the winner, it is done at the expense of the lottery company and not the winner.

I work with the National Lottery and I wish to present you as the winner of an unclaimed prize of the total sum of 8,168,679.00 pounds for our mutual benefit. I shall furnish you with more details when you signify your interest to cooperate with me.

Thank you for your time and God bless.

Regards, Mark Harris.

The most obvious problem is that you feel the need to bore us to death with it.

On 07 Oct 2016, "Brian Gaff" grunted:

Bear in mind it could well be deliberate... consider that the scammer's aim is somwehow to extract cash from the punter, who will of necessity have to be extremely gullible to fall for whatever request is made by the scammer.

So far the scammer has had to do nothing other than send out 10 billion spam emails, in the hope that 1 or 2 might come good. He doesn't want to attract 1000 replies to his original message, by makinmg it sound vaguely plausible, as that will cause him an awful lot of wasted time working up

999 victims before he finds his mug. Much better to attract just 20 or so especially 'vulnerable' people by sending out a message like this, and then you've only got 19 to get through till you hit paydirt.

The poor grammar / spelling / implausible / illogical bits in these are often deliberate - they are designed to filter out all but the most gullible!

So the fact you have "seen through" (metaphorically) the scam, means they would like you to deselect yourself from the running - saves them needing to do it.

Yup. If you want a laugh, why not lead them on a bit? Waste their time.

not always, A Cousin's wife ends her emails that way - she's a Malaysian Chinese.

While I am content to do that with call centre scammers telling me my computer has a problem, I am less keep to verify a working email address for a spammer.

IME it makes precisely no difference. I've led them on for weeks before now.

The Sakawa boys from Ghana that haunt Skype use it as well.
