Going rate for fitting woodburner.

Hi Folks we are intending to get a woodburner fitted with a metal flue liner in a straight chimney of our ex council house probably approx hight of chimney to hearth 35 foot it will also need a new pot. One bloke has quoted =A31400 he is HETAS qualifyed but it seems a bit steep to me. I was wondering what the going rate was, we live in the South West.

It cost us just under that 3 years ago for a 8.5Kw woodburner and just recently (January) it cost us £1100 for a 3.5Kw stove. Both needed SS liners and new teminals (the posh names for pots!)

Both were Stovax stoves and we're in Devon and the cost included the cost of the stove.

We used a bloke based in Paignton. I'll dig out the details if you drop me an email.

I didn't come with much cahnge from a grand doing it myself, with scaffolding already there on the chimney.

If he's competent, sounds a decent deal to me.

Can't remember the exact figure, but it was that order of magnitude to fit ours here in East Sussex last year - I remember that the fitting and lining cost as much as the stove (Stovax) something over £2K and under £3K all in

Ouch... But if that's the going rate in your neck of the woods...
