Gas oven on lpg supply

I have been offered an ex display gas oven but there is no mention of a conversion kit so it can work with bottle gas. I have had a look at various 'spares' sites and they seem to sell replacement jets for a hob but not for an oven

Can I assume that replacement jets are not needed for an oven?

... oh and another question as I'm here. I want to move my oven location. Is there any limit to how long the pipe can be from bottle to oven? I think mine will be about 10m. I could move the bottle if necesary but I'd rather not

I very much doubt it as the air/gas ratio has to be corect depending on the fuel.

I was, possibly wrongly, under the impression that appliances came fitted and adjusted for with natural gas but also supllied with LPG jets. See what "spares" this ex-display model comes with, bear in mind that there may well be an djustment to be made as well as just changing the jet(s).

Is Mr Sirett LPG certified? Common sense says that provided there is not to much pressure drop along that pipe it'll be fine. How much pressure drop is allowable I don't know, you can probably calculate it from the maximum flow required by all the appliances on the pipe, how many and what type bends and pipe dia. I'd expect to find standard tables for this out on the web somewhere.

I would be very surprised if the oven does not need re-jetting. I would contact the manufacturers in your position. Normally smaller jets are need to stop the bottled gas flame from being sooty and risk of producing CO. I had to re-jet an oven in France to run on butane a while back. I assume you will be running on propane.

Not sure about length of pipe runs. My parents house has about 10m run between bottles and the cooker and that was professionally installed about 30 yrs ago so presumably met regs then.

I'm not LPG certified but I can be pretty sure of the following.

1) If the makers don't offer an LPG option then LPG is not an option. I.e. put a NG oven on an LPG supply will cause excessive and probably sooty flames. 2) The gas flow rate on LPG is much smaller than for NG and the oven isn't likely to be more than 6kW, so I would expect that it will work fine even with a 10m long pipe.

Data for the maximum runs for LPG pipes are available from CDA etc.
