Garden Furniture

Anyone have any bright ideas for cleaning white plastic outdoor tables and chairs?

Regards and thanks in advance

The power washers works an absolute treat on my ornate aluminium garden furniture and on the plastic on the kids slide etc..

Cif cream liquid and a lot of elbow grease.

Have used various but the best appears to be Stardrops a liquid cleaner not unlike a thin washing up liquid but leaves a shine. If very grubby use traffic film remover but this can leave items looking flat - no shine

Personally, I wouldn't bother. White plastic garden furniture looks appalling after a couple of years. Will the budget stretch to replacement with something more durable, like hardwood or iron? You can often pick up a set for very little money in the supermarkets.

I agree. If you must, try a caravan cleaner such as Fenwicks.

Washing powder in solution is surprisingly effective too.

Commercial UPVC cleaner, which is based on surfactants and _not_ on abrasives.

If you abrade the surface (even with heavy handed use of a pressure washer) then the surface roughens, exposes the mineral filler and becomes an absolute magnet for grime.

Or you could get some decent outdoor furniture and not the hideous white plastic stuff.

Yeah burn it, it's crap.

I read somewhere that toothpaste is meant to be good for cleaning plastic patio furniture.

It's also hugely toxic if burned, so please don't do that!
