FYI. Wickes My Card

Wickes have launched a loyalty card, similar principle to a Tesco clubcard.

I got 500 points, worth £5 today for signing up. Its 1 point for every £1 spent, so not a lot of discount, but if you shop at Wickes frequently (like me) its worth having.

Better than a poke in the eye with a blunt stick.

Has it got your name on it?

What, the blunt stick?

And here was me thinking of mouse mats or pens...

(I already have fridge magnets)

If it's like a Clubcard you sign it but other folk can use it if you give it to them or if you are with them and you get the points .Tesco also give you a keyring one

The problem I have with Wickes is that they rarely seem to carry the things I want to buy, or don't have them in the size / type that I want.

But this means generally the things they do stock are cheaper than the other sheds. By just stocking the faster moving stuff. And no fluffy cushions. ;-)

The problem is, it is usually a specific size of wood screw or a particular plumbing fitting that I need in a hurry and they don't have. Unfortunately, there seems to be a reducing number of specialist suppliers who do carry everything you need. My local architectural ironmonger - a haven for anonymous brown boxes containing exactly what you need - is the most recent to go.
