Can someone tell me where I may be able to get replacement door seals for an oldish (5 years) Iced Diamond fridge? Tried the locals places - no go. Thanks
HELLO! who made it?
Hotpoint, they are the only ones who make iced diamond fridges.
Nice one Phillip, now we need the model number.
CPC sell 'universal' kits you make up to fit
They also supply genuine Hotpoint parts, but you have to phone them, as most are not online or in the catalogue.
Also, check your freezer to make sure the seals are replacable. Many aren't anymore, and you have to replace the whole door (although I don't know if Hotpoint have gone this way).

Go to the local tip, and find a scrap one of the same general make.
Give the family lessons on how to use the fridge without damaging the seal (how does it get wrecked in 5 years??)
Could be a badly fitted door, particularly if it's been taken off to be reversed, and not correctly adjusted afterwards.
Who are CPC and how does one get in touch with them?
Sorry to have missed all that detail and for this late reply - my wife was pretty badly injured in a road traffic accident 3 weeks ago and I'm trying to fix things around the house in the brief times I spend at home just now.
All seals are not created equal oh wize one. This one has (for some totally unfathomable reason) decide to split across the top. Far be it from me to suggest that in 5 years it just possibly *could* be a materials failure. Ah yes
- your suggestion must be the answer - it's all us thoughtless people opening and closing the door that's done it! Inconsiderate twa*s.
Oh and this is a real apology - I did mean to say a genuine 'thank you' to the several constructive and helpful replies given.
I would suggest that, if you can, you get on the manufacturer's web site and see if there is a parts list for that model. If you ring CPC with the right part number, it's (a) easier and (b) less risk of getting the wrong bit!
Apologies if you've said you tried that...
I've done something similar for my 14 year old fridge recently...
If the seal is symmetrical just take it off, turn it upside down and replace. If you pull the seal away on the inside it might reveal fixing screws for the door inner that hold it in place.
While the seal is off give it a good clean and a thorough rinse.
I found that oxy cleaning powder is pretty good. I bet a lot of seals fail because cleaners are used on them that leach out the plasticiers in the plastic and make it brittle. Maybe Hotpoint would know what is best.
cheers, Pete.
