Foam Guns ( again)

Just before Christmas I bought an Everbuild Foam Gun (75661 from Toolstation for a tenner ) .I used it but left the canister on but locked down the lever .Went to use it today but the foam came out very weakly so I removed the canister only to find it continued to come out of the canister all in a heap in the floor ( dunno why it did this even when off the gun but it did ) ...luckily a spare unfurnished room . Looks like I'll need to dismantle the gun if I can find out how ....have asked Everbuild ...in future it'll be a case of removing the canister and using cleaner to clean both gun and foam canister ..No way am I leaving it on for any length of time .

IME, if you leave the gun parked can valve down (i.e. with the can upside down, as you would use the gun) they don't dry up and block.

Never had a problem doing it this way myself.

Well I have taken it to bits and cleared foam from the valve where the can attaches ...removed the tube and cleared foam from it and the spring and the nozzle and put it all together again...tried the gun cleaner in it and it seems not bad but might need a slight adjustment again before I try foam .....Must admit when I finished using it last time it was parked sitting on the can so maybe that was the problem . At least I know how to dismantle it again if need be but I'm still inclined to just clean it if it's not going to be used for any length of time ..just in case..lol.

interesting - I believe this stuff cures with moisture- so it shouldn't matter which way up it's stored - perhaps the seal betwixt can and gun was not 100% and the moisture crept in via the join? ....wonder if it could ever be 100%....
