fitting a new pump

Hi guys

My problem is that i gave bought a new water pump for our low pressure hot and cold.

It is a salamander ct80. I am replacing a Watermill cheap and nasty pump we have had for about 7 years. It is really noisy.

The pipes are connected to the old pump with flexible push on connectors to the 22mm feed and exit.

How do you remove the push on connectors from the pipes? the harder you pull the tighter they get. There is obviously a trick or knack to it but I cannot see how! Please help I do not want to damage the old couplers as the pump is working perfectly and has some value intact with couplers.

Thanks in advance

Gary

Some of them have a removal tool, but you can often get by without it.

Try to push the ring around the base of the connector towards the end of the pipe while pulling the body of the connector away from the end of the pipe, or post a photo of the pushfit connector somewhere and somebody may recognise the type ...
