Extreme durable MDF - Medite Tricoya

Anyone tried this yet? It's MDF, but not as we know it. There's some chem= ical jiggery pokery done at the cellular level, such that the binder resin = now also waterproofs the individual fibres. The result is weatherproof MDF= .

It looks like MDF. Same hardness, density and abrasion to tools.

It's weatherproof like a plastic. Decades of outdoor use expected.

Downside, not surprisingly, is the cost. Something like =A3180 for a 12mm s= heet.

Wonder if they will introduce other waterproofed wood products - like OSB? (Seeing as they make solid wood products - and offcuts of them might be valuable enough to recycle in the factory.

I remember about 10 years ago there was a process where they put wood in a vacuum chamber, pumped out the air and then replaced it with some plastic or other. The net result looked like wood but required no treatment and didn't warp

12mm? try £80 per sheet, but well worth it!!!
