Exterior varnish... for internal use?

I need to varnish the front door (ie the outside) and also some wardrobe doors. Looking at Screwfix just now I find first, a litre of exterior grade varnish, and secondly a litre of interior grade stuff (which is actually slightly more expensive than exterior).

Why shouldn't I just use exterior varnish inside, ie the same stuff for both jobs? Is there some reason?

Thanks David

The exterior grade stuff is likely to be more hard wearing, I would have thought, but may contain chemicals that are not good to have hanging around the inside of the house whilst it dries.

I use exterior for in- and outside, it's tougher. You have to check that it's not too yellowy, though - I think exterior may have some slight degree of something in it against the light. I've never found it a problem, though, I used some Wickes (uch!) yacht varnish on some interior doors a while ago, it was fine. If you use interior varnish on surfaces, check it's not acrylic, as this marks badly if it gets wet (cup marks, etc.).
