Error code on Worcester Bosch boiler

I've got a Worcester Bosh Greenstar CDi boiler that is showing an error code 5E. It's not in the user guide, anyone know what it means? Heating and hot water are working fine.

Possibly SE (Service due)?

If you have had it serviced in the past it has not been done correctly or by someone that is CORGI registered. It shows "SE" for Service Engineer. So you need to call someone that is CORGI registered, can service the boiler without ripping you off and reset the service indicator correctly. Most cowboys pretend to take the boiler apart, or just hoover it out and run for it.

Yeah, and the boiler knows if the person doing the work is a legit CORGI or not so no trying to DIY it now ... ;-)

That's odd! It was serviced only 3 weeks ago by the same person who has serviced it yearly since he insatalled it 3 years ago. Will get in touch with him.

The SE code is purely time, rather than fault, driven and indicates that the burner has run for 2324 hours (considered by WB to be average annual operation).

Your engineer should have reset this timer when he serviced the boiler but obviously didn't. You can easily do it yourself by following the instructions at:

Thanks for that. Seems to be aimed at the customer so will give it go. May have a word with my man first to see what he says.
