Emailed to me. (State of the nation)

Alvechurch Bugle 5 - 040 ( 19 - 10 - 15 ) Wheels coming off after 164 days. Dave has been in office now for 164 days (well, minus 46 days for the summe r recess ) that's 118 days he has had in which to implement his election p romises, to an expectant nation who ( with a little media coaxing ) voted h im back into office . But what has the Tory voter got to show for putting his/her cross by the na mes of Dave's 330 denizens of democracy on May 7TH last, or was it simply a triumph of hope over experience ? . Well, those who were expecting action on immigration, could be living in a town, with an underfunded local authority, that has been earmarked to rece ive a consignment of economic migrants. Similarly, his renegotiation of our terms and conditions of EU membership w ent nowhere. but then they should take heart from the fact that George Osbo rne's economic miracle rolls ever onward - - that's if one ignores that th e fact that the entire British Steel Industry ( foreign owned of course ) i s about to go belly up, despite the intervention of local MP and Business Secretary : Sajid Javid, perhaps the inducements/subsidies were just not high enough. George is also in hot water with his own party, as the reality of his withdrawal of tax credits, policy begins to dawn, plus, the Hinkley Point nuclear power station ( which we can't afford ) is to be built by the Frenc h, to a faulty design, and financed by the Chinese ( if the British taxpayer underwrites it, with generous subsidies ) . In fact the Chinese PM is arriving in London today, to discuss this and oth er matters, including HS 2 , which Brussels has imposed on us, and again w hich we can't afford - - so good luck on that one George, your : St Paul's and Magdalen education, should be enough to outwit Mr Xi Jinping, If this nation were to demand an end of term report, in the style of Americ a's State of the Union Address, and if it were written by the electorate ra ther than Conservative Head Office, it would probably run : David continue s to disappoint, and has had a poor year, he has achieved nothing of note, he is the bottom of his form in every subject, is frequently absent, appe ars to have little interest , has no leadership or organisational skills, is easily led, and mixes in the wrong circles. In truth he is not PM material ( George even less so ) the wheels are comi ng off his administration alarmingly, and he is demonstrating his small min ded desperation ( to appease Merkel and Hollande ) by threatening his Cabin et and Ministers , if they follow their gut instinct, and campaign to leav e the EU. Came the hour - but NOT the man, he and his party are destroying Britain, our Head of State should see this and act in the interests of Her subject s. Ed. - - - Bromsgrovia.

Well its a view, but we have had worse. I also think that this, more than ever should actually educate the public to the fact that our politicians, are not in fact a race apart withsome kind of superhero powers, they are just men and women like us, and as such they make c*ck ups, andcannot control a country increasingly tied in with what the rest of the world does, and for whome our leaders have no jurisdiction or clout of very much substance.

The world may well be going to hell in a handcart as they say, but until we all stop acting like the world revolves around just us, and the work ethic is seen as the main role for all, then nothing is going to change. Brian
