I've bought backboxes for rewiring sockets, but is the following one wrong for me, or will it take sockets legally?
Flame retardant urea moulding Conforming to BS5733 Network box for use in trunking systems

CPC's descriptions are always a bit suspect.
Urea Formaldehyde is flame retardant which is a primary requirement for elect installation (but not for networking) suggesting general suitability.
The BS code quoted is the same as that on the MK product PL00627 which is described as suitable for electrical installation so again that supports suitability.
In short, yes it looks as if it conforms to elec install requirements.
That's the right type, but 25mm can be a little tight with ring mains (though it is OK and commonly used) - I prefer to go up one size to 35mm juts for a little more "comfort".
They look like normal surface mount boxes to me... so they will be fine for sockets, although ironically you might have difficulty with some CAT5E modular faceplates that can foul on the sloped knockouts or the screw binding posts that are wider than on normal network backboxes.
I bought about ten different ones to see what they are like. Good, they'll all do.
