The message from gort contains these words:
too dangerous. Bloody typical!
Tks gentlemen. Obvious really. I'm getting too old to think out of the box.
No. You are only getting too old when you can't remember where you last saw the box.
Not surprised when you find out how much they want for a length of cable!!!!

Problem: Cable sheath fractured on entry to cable support
Managed to remove the Switch cover using a small screwdriver (Force/Ignorance) (Dyson suggests screwdriver bent at 90 degrees! Who has one of those !) Fortunately I have the correct screwdriver to remove the housing securing screw ! All wires crimped to push-on connectors locked inside plastic covers. Inserted small screwdriver into the cover from the mouth & released the crimp connector Soldered prepared cable to crimp connectors and reassembled.
How much did I save ?
I believe when I phoned Dyson they wanted around £30 for the complete cable. 2 words came out of my mouth and I put the phone down!!

Anyone who's bought their screwdriver down the pound shop.
Owain
At least I now can impress my friends at dinner parties by knowing what a Glamour Cap is.
And opened a tin of paint with it..
