Drill Driver 'Bursts'

I can't see what is to be gained from dipping a screw in PVA. The screw will not work its way out anyway, and without PVA it is easy to get out. With PVA difficult to get out. Dipping the screw in silicon grease makes it go in easier and easy to take out as well. It also makes the drill battery last longer as it the drill doesn't work so hard. Quicker too.

These days I'd prefer to glue them.

I wouldn't screw them together at all. I'd use some Titebond 2 and 18 gauge brads from my nailer.

BZZT: Evasion. So you really don't know how to screw things together, only how to screw them up? Sheesh, some "handyman"!

Anyone with a tube of titbond and a nailer could impress me when it comes to woodwork.

I was the only boy in the woodwork class whose scottie dog book-ends had two tail ends.

Not evasion - simply knowing the best technique for a particular job - which you clearly don't. Are you related to Doctor Drivel by any chance?

Who would screw 2 pieces of 2 x 1 together? That would be 44 x 18 nearest standard size, giving 36mm total. 35mm screw risks the point breaking through, 30mm screw doesn't give enough of the screw body for a firm joint.

Try again.

Well, here's your chance to answer the question, then. Consider it a theoretical exercise.

No, you try again. You're beginning to get there considering screw sizes, but there's a long way to go. If you're embarrassed to continue and won't try, I will understand why.

Childish or what? No you, no you, no you. Ner ner ne ner ner".

I doubt you understand much at all. I wouldn't screw them together because it's the wrong method and I know better.

Which bit of 'wrong method' didn't you understand? You obviously consider it practical to screw 2 x 18mm battens together when it clearly isnt.

Asking a ridiculous impractical question doesn't help prove a point does it?

Well you started it, and now you're continuing. You still have not answered the question, even when given *another* chance...

Are you saying it's too hard for you? Perhaps you could stretch yourself, and describe screwing two pieces of timber together, your choice of size.

It's proved that you cat't even say how to screw two pieces of wood together, yet you call yourself a "handyman". If you can't even do that, I think you should change your posting name to "The Medway Cowboy" - it may be more appropriate.

No you started it - I'm telling my Mum on you. My big brother will beat you up.

Now I've got it. You don't know yourself, and rather than ask a straight quetion you are trying to trick me into telling you.
