Anyone know where I can but replacement glass units for DIY installation. Just been quoted £135 for replacing a 49x72cmm window which seems a bit steep.
Thanks

Go to yell.com and put in 'glazers' and your area , quite a few suppliers about ( at least 4 within 10 miles of my location). All the best

Look for Glass Merchants in your area, they're the wholesale boys.
Just about any glazier. Expect to pay ~=A375/sq metre of sealed unit.
Look in Yellow P for window manufacturers & Glass merchants.
Beware. It is quite likely there are only a few merchants making up original double glazing unit in your area. You will likely find most will quote you, but many will source any order from one of the few OEMs ( with add on commission of course.)
Rather than diving in looking for quotes, you might do better to first discover who has the equipment to make up the units. Then ask for a quote.
I found that out the hard way. The local firm I use now is a plastic window firm (does all sorts incl;uding conservatories). DG panels are made up on the premises. Prices are reasonable too.

I've just been quoted £70 for a toughened glass unit about 4' x 2'. However, that is from the factory unit just four doors down, so there is no travel time.

You will first need to quote the type of frame. Ours is type 22, which is quite old now.
Take a trip to your local secondary glazed window manufacturer and have a word with them.

That's a good price for toughened.
I got 4 similar units (possibly a bit bigger), supplied and fitted for
300 quid. I don't think there was a quantity discount either. I can't remember what the price was if I just bought the units and did it myself - considerably cheaper from what I remember.
That should have been double glazing company. Sorry

Business to business, so retail would have VAT added.
