Do you use a router in its table?

how do you manage to change bits whilst its sitting underneath the table? do you struggle to change the bits?

Take a 5" x 1" 1/8" piece of flat metal, cut or grind an opening at one depending on the size of your securing collet nut for the router bit in this case 11/16th wide x 12/16th depth.

Shove the jaw end into a vice about 1.5" and bend over then bend it 2 more times so it looks like this...

_/''''''''

You can now loosen the collet nut from the top of the table by dipping the router spanner under the bit and securing/releasing it. :-)

Do you struggle to push the collet nut brake under the table to release the bit? use a push rod with a spring on the rod which can be secured under the table with a bit of know-how. :-)

It can be a pain - the answer is a dedicated powered router table.

Sometimes they stick. Or, in the case of my steelsaw they never engage in the first place.
