DIY staff 'are best at explaining products'

DIY staff 'are best at explaining products' Staff in DIY stores and garden centres emerge in a new survey as having the best product knowledge and being most effective in explaining product benefits to customers.

Are they talking about a planet we know of? Have they ever been to a B&Q?

Were they comparing them to the self-service checkout?

Even if they were, I suspect the checkout'd win.

"The survey found 75% of online shoppers reporting that retail staff 'fail to communicate well', while only 50% of click-and-collect customers believe 'retail staff explained products and services'."

If you buy online, who _are_ these retail staff?

It seem to boil down to

'Staff training is really important' - says a firm which sells staff training.

75%? 50%? How many people did they ask? 4?

"best" is a relative term.

Quite. When buying online you rarely interact with staff at all. Especially since most companies make it very hard to contact them.

They only need to know more than 78% of their customers to get that result.
