Dish washer plumbing estimate - away from kitchen sink

Hi,

Our kitchen is not the biggest, and for us to put a dish washer in it will have to be approximately six feet away from the sink.

This isn't something I particularly want to do myself, therefore:

  1. Will this distance present any problems regarding the cold water feed and waste water? Our water pressure is very high.

  1. Providing the distance is okay, what sort of ballpark cost should I expect to get a plumber to run pipes and connectors from under the sink to where we intend the dish washer to go?

Thanks in advance,

Tris.

Not really. Extending the pipe (you probably only need cold for the dishwasher) should not take a plumber more than an hour, as long as it is easy enough to turn off the cold water.

It sounds like the waste would be better done by mounting a stand pipe and u bend on the wall, and drilling through outside at the base. You can then pipe from there to the nearest gully on soil pipe. Couple of hours work perhaps.

Depends on where you are... I would not be surprised if you were quoted £150 ish (it would cost you £30 to diy)
