Dexion Speedframe.

That's the square section steel stuff where you hammer in corner pieces etc. Is it just normal square section steel tube - or specially made? It's just that it comes painted black and I want a different colour, so seems stupid to pay extra for the supplied finish.

The tolerances might be tighter (or maybe the polythene inserts take care of that?)

I have some of this somewhere. Will check dims. From memory I think it is oddball size and V thin wall. Are they doing a Henry Ford? Nick.

You can also buy it in grey. As the corner pieces only come in those two colours, you would need to claim the final effect was intended to be artistic if you wanted any other colour of tube.

ISTR seeing a very similar product using aluminium tube that had extra options, such as extruded fins for attaching panels. I don't recall whether that was interchangeable though.

It's about 26.summat mm across the outside, could be about 26.5mm. I can't check the inside as I made a small frame from it and now it's holding up a 23inch monitor, a 17inch monitor, and a load of other junk.

Of the ones I suggested when Square Tube was discussed before, only this link still works

formatting link
says colours include black, red, blue and aluminium

This place used to do it but perhaps don't any more

This place has several colours of tube if you click on the item links for a catalogue page

This place has the finned versions for panel infills

(and brackets and uprights that is Spur Shelving compatible as well)

I've only seen it in black and a fetching shade of blue, though I'm given to understand the latter was not vey well liked. Brian

The other thing is the only online supplier I can find (although I've not searched fully) only does the tube in bundles - far more than I need. And as I said I wish to use my own choice of colour.

Last time I bought some it was from a supplier in Wandsworth which would suit me fine - but they're no longer there. And it was for a job, so I can't measure it.
