Cutting a doorway

The joints in my walls (rough stone) are largely lime mortar and I have found that a discarded bow saw blade was very useful in cutting out the mortar prior to prying out a stone. With brick walls where there is continuous mortar above and below each brick the bricks should fall out once the mortar is cut through. Depending on how soft the mortar is even a hacksaw blade or better, a keyhole saw, would cope.

Good call. I've got an old bowsaw blade (well, I've got more than 1 bowsaw blade and that's the correct number to own) so I might give that a bash as you suggest.

You may not feel that way if you look up its price! When I saw that link, I thought it might be handy to have one, so looked it up. The first price on a google was over 1K.

It will be under £100 for a cheapie with the TC blade. It uses the Bosch reiprocating saw mounting system.
