Cupboard door switch

Anyone any experience with these?

Our sparks put one in about 3 years ago and its now failing. And no, its not the 60W tungsten blub, since if after opening the door I whack the pointy bit enough times it eventually comes on.

I had 3 different but functionally similar switches in our old house that lasted 14 years without trouble, so for this one to fail after 3 years is disappointing.

Tried squirting in some switch cleaner? Or even WD40?

Not yet. First step is to check that it looks OK if I take the lid off (wires not come loose or stuck spring etc).

Open, clean contacts up with very fine sandpaper. WD40 aka white spirit with a tiny bit of mineral oil isnt really a good thing.
