CT88 combi oven decorative plastic repair

I have a CT88 combination oven whose door has a decorative plastic strip around the outside, which strip seems to be more or less integral with the functional part of the door. The strip has cracked (maybe someone left the oven on 'grill' for too long) and Comet say they can no longer supply replacement doors for this model. (Could be that they're nervous about the possibility of someone botching a replacement job, or maybe it's just planned obsolescence).

Anyway, the alternatives would seem to be to glue the strip together again, or to remove the supporting wall brackets (fastened into brick and plaster) and refit with great difficulty (awkward corner) at the spacing required by the legs of a new model of combi oven, almost bound to be different from the CT88. (Or to reposition the legs on a new oven, so that they match the old spacing. That might be second easiest).

Has anyone had any luck in gluing this sort of hard white plastic? If it's possible to do a good job, that would seem to be by far the easiest approach.

I suppose that I should emphasise that this part of the door has NOTHING to do with preventing microwave leakage; it's just decorative. The door still fits closely, but the crack may make people nervous.
