Coving/skirting to cover pipework-supplier?

Hello

I am about to fit a heating system in a house which has chipboard floors upstairs. Rather than disturb the chipboard, I am planning to run a flow and return in a kind of L shape, along the line of the skirting upstairs which which run the width and length of the side and front of the house and use polypipe for the piperuns with vertical drops to radiators in lower rooms.

I intend t use a 22mm F & R in polypipe and eventually by some kind of puprose made coving/moulded skirting to cover the pipe run and make it neat. The existing skirting is only a couple of inches and low profile.

Perhaps there is a product which has a purpose made backplate which is fastened to the wall, pipes / cabling installed and then the front clipped on?

If anyone knows of or has used such a product then I'd be glad to have recommendations..

I have previously done systems in similar houses where i have lifted sections of chipboard but it isnt always successful and i feel its best left undisturbed..

I've seen covers for twin pipes in the sheds. You use special clips to mount the pipes, and the cover clips onto them. More cosmetic than protection though.

Personally, I'd lift the floorboards. Anything else will look like a bodge. With solid floors there's some excuse, but not with chipboard.

If that's the only issue, I use a Trend Routabout jig to cut access holes where I need them. Very fast, very neat. You cut the hole with a router and jig then the removed piece fits into a plastic ring in the hole. It won't rock and the rings cost about £2.50 each. In terms of time saved, a huge win.

22mm plastic pipe can easily be threaded down the hole.
