Converting VHP laptop to XP Pro

I assumed Vista Home Premium, but ICBW.

The chances of success depend entirely on the availability of drivers for the chipset, and on the availability of an already registered copy of Windows XP, as I believe that unregistered copies can no longer be registered or activated.
