Of course you've conveniently omitted the cost of such a thing - as usual. That's the trouble with just quoting adverts.

In fact none can. You're making things up again.

Oh any combi will do an adequate shower easily. But 10 litres a minute from a shower fed off a storage system with pump is poor anyway.

The other thing you really must take into account is a storage system heats water to the set temperature which is commonly about 60C. Combi specs are based on water at a much lower temperature. In other words the flow rates ain't like for like.

The man of experience. That's if you want to know about Vaillants and nothing else.

The leaking rad valves problem is a known one, but nothing to do with the boiler being a combi. It is a result of it using a sealed rather than vented system with the rads running at higher water pressure than previously.

If this is a concern then you can get modern boilers that will run with a traditional vented heating system (including combis)

Indeed. The comparison between a small number of untypical combination boilers and "storage systems" (which are presumably all the same) is interesting, but not illuminating.

The last thing we need is an FAQ from dribble where data he doesn't understand how to interpret is presented as fact. Ed's one may want updating in some ways - but the guidance it gives is still relevant.

Of course. A storage system is capable of delivering any flow rate you may require - if it's designed to do so. But practice limits this due to the common sizes of pipes and cylinders etc being used, and the 'head' from the tank. In the same way as the maximum a combi can deliver is restricted by availability of that boiler, water and gas supplies to the average house.
