Cast/wrought iron fence & leaking bath

Morning all,

Before I spend ages loooking around I was hoping to find some help advice from the wealth of experience here ;-)

  1. Can anyone recommend some cast/wrought iron fence suppliers/makers? I need about 16 feet and preferably would like to be angled so that the uprights are still vertical when they follow the slope of my drive, which I estimate to be about 20 degrees.

  1. Due to the shape at the top of my bath (where the shower is located) the shower curtain itself is not always sufficent to stop the water running down the outside of the path and pooling on the floor. This is obviously causing a problem and I'm 99% sure that using a fixed shower panel instaed will not fix the problem. I think something like a small acrylic/glass triangle situated in the corner between the bath and wall (fixed and sealed somehow directly to both surfaces) would rectify the problem but would appreciate your thoughts/alternative suggestions. If I am on th right track where would I source this?

Thanks very much, Crag

the best way is to level the path or base of the fence first either by digging out a small trench on the high end and building a low wall on the other end and set the straight metal fence level on that. That will solve the first problem. Cast iron is uncommon and costly but any back lane ironworker will make up a 16 foot fence for you for small money and set it up in the garden.

your second problem is easily solved by putting a screw or a hook in the wall half way between the shower head and the curtain line and catch the last eyelet of the curtain on to it so that the water flows down the curtain rather than down the wall. Its a common problem and putting up a panel to help it is costly and can be problematical also.
