What cable do Telewest run from the box on the outside wall to their decoder on the inside?
I need to lay some whilst the ceiling are down so that if I ever get cable TV (or a TV) there will be no mess to the decorations.
Thanks
Adam

Almost any 75 ohm cable, such as CT125, would do. Your best bet might be to find a Telewest installer who might give you a length (of cable, that is!).
Alternatively, you could lay conduit, so that if the eventual cable goes faulty it can be readily replaced.

They are concerned about "egress" from their systems, so a very good spec foil shielded cable is used. As Frank sez cadging a lump off their installers might be a good bet, they often have odd bits....

I tried that and they wouldn't play ball. In the end I laid a draw-wire and had the floor up at selected trouble spots the day they came.
Well worth it - can't stand exposed wires tacked along the skirting board.
I also will not accept cable tacked to the skirting. I have a concrete floor and the TV decoder will go in the centre of the house in the old fireplace so a draw wire in conduit will probably not work on such a run.

Neither would mine - which is why I had the floor up at the awkward bits and draw-wires for the rest.
You can have a point located near the edge of the house and then just extend at your leisure in whatever decent cable you like (i.e. CT100) with a couple of plugs on each end. There's no actual requirement to have the cable inlet box next to the decoder.

How do you fit a couple of plugs to each end of a cable? I've only managed one to each end.

Clearly, some of us are more skilled. ;-)

I pulled up at the roadside to ask a telewest engineer who was working on one of their the green boxes. He said they use WF100. I can find PF100 and CT100 but not WF100.

Its a supposed better version of CT100 . It does exist!....

Or pendant, even, if you've got two core cable :~)
