Is it possible to colour brass hinges black. Have found the perfect table with wrong coloured hinges! Many thanks, Mistie.

I thought hinges were supposed to be hidden on tables?
Change the hinge to black.

Try a model engineering thread. They'll know how to chemically blacken brass.

Copper sulphide is what you want. Maybe eggs? there is a chemical that does it to copper well. Possibly sodium thiosulphate.
Or just paint it black with e.g.hammerite ..

think, though, you'd be better off painting them - or, if you can be bothered, having them anodized with black nickel plate.
