Boxing in pipes under a wall hung boiler.

The boiler is on the kitchen wall above the worktop. All of the pipes run t= hrough the worktop vertically up to the underside of the boiler and they ha= ve been boxed in and tiled to within about 9 inches of the bottom of the bo= iler, leaving the space around the pipes open for the odd rodent to pop up = and take a look around.

What best to do fill the gap around the pipes? fill with foam and paint? I don't want to take anything apart and do it properly, I just want the qui= ckest neatest solution.

Thanks for any ideas.

Brendan.

9 inches is probably the access required to service the boiler, so a removable panel of some kind would be best. Mine is tiled and held in place by magnets.

Agreed, there's also the issue of having a gas pipe in a sealed duct, there's meant to be some ventilation to avoid build up of gas should there be a leak so foaming in is not best.

And if a rodent gets as far as your kitchen, it's game over

Thanks for that. Removable panel, that's what I'll do. I spent the morning filling holes outside that a rat could get in through.
