bosch dishwasher playing up !!!

hi,

I hope someone can help, warranty has just ran out and the dishwashe has started playing up.

the wife set it going before we went to bed and when i got up at 5.30 day shift :-( it was still working, i opened it up and it had no washed the pots, when i got home i pulled it out and took the left sid panel off and tried it and it started working, so i put it all bac together but four hours later it was still working away but this tim it had washed the pots.

it sounds like the motor is idling just waiting to stop/start, could i be a program fault?

any ideas would be very welcome. thanks wayne.

p.s its a bosch, model number sgs43a52gb/3

Clean the filters, like you do every day, right?

Check for paper labels etc blocking the sump.

Make sure there is water getting to it.

yup. I wash my fileters every day and carefully rinse the plates free ofmuck befre puuting them in te idshwasher.

And then rewash all the dishes it fails to wash

Takes about twice as long as hand washing them used to.

Something to try which may or may NOT work; tape over some of the alternate holes on each side of the spray arm with foil tape.

With a bit of luck the water from the spray arm will come out of the remaining holes at much higher pressure, giving better cleaning.

If the pump is has an induction motor it should try to maintain it's speed and so give higher pressure with a lower volume of water.

cheers, Pete.

Hmm, I doubt that would work. One of the commonest causes of poor washing is blocked nozzles on the spray arm; they fail to rotate if there's not enough oomph (especially the outermost nozzles).

I wouldn't know what sort of motor my Bosch has, but it's definitely susceptible to this problem and I expect the OP's would be too, being a Bosch.

Anyway, surely the designers of the machine will have optimised the nozzle size/position etc to suit; I can't believe it would be likely that their efforts would be improved by simply blocking up nozzles!

If it is less than 6 years old and you bought it as an individual (not a business) then you are likely to have a claim against the retailer. Contrary to what the shop might say, their responsibility does not automatically end after exactly one year.

Quote the "Sale of Goods Act" at them. There are loads of websites with information on this act like

think they should repair it FOC.

Cheers, Mark.
