Bollards!

Assuming (as another poster suggests) that their bases are flat. Dig a hole that is deeper than needed. Slop some thin concrete in the bottom. It will level out flow well and should end up with a nice level top surface. When at least firm, the bollards can simply be stood in the holes and additional concrete added.

Stand one alongside the other with one upside down. Repeat 90 deg round.

Quite agree, at least I was close to that with the "equal error" method.= You would have to be careful to ensure that the level was paralell(?) to= the vertical center line of the bollard for each measurement though. ie =

the top or bottom of the level not a little bit side ways. IYSWIM.

Genius!

I have two suitable levels & a chalk line - sorted.

I do have a laser level and you are quite right, you cant see it outdoors.

Brilliant.

Immediate promotion to Corporal for that man.

Great idea but it wouldn't work with those cranked posts they use for some traffic lights these days. Which could explain why they all seem to be leaning one way or another. It really bugged me at first but I hardly notice any more.

It's one I would expect anyone doing the job as a professional to have. Besides, levels are something you need several of, for different applications. Mine vary from a 50mm diameter two bubble spot level to 1.2m long..

I was going to add an 'adult themes' warning, but I think the link says it all.

Many years ago I was walking back home with the B.I.L. and a friend of his and the conversation went along the same lines. Having just come from the boozer, he wanted a pee and pulled out his whopper and relieved himself. I kid you not, it was 12 inches long.

It didn't have much thickness and he complained that he had never found a woman that could take it. No surprise there then.
