Not quite, but im quite happy to be described as a manual or even blue collared worker. The only white collar people I have use and need to employ are accountants and solicitors, I don't begrudge them their fees, especially as I earn more then them.
Gosh you're right I had no idea, this IT business sounds Just as arduous and fraught with danger as coal mining. Presumably you had to spend years working under what, a *Master* server lifter ? before you were qualified to undertake on you own, such Skilled dangers, and complicated tasks. You certainly deserve to use the title Engineer.
