That sounds incredibly pompous and elitist.
I'm always amazed by the number of posh 4x4s in the Lidl car park. They probably transfer all the shopping to Waitrose bags before they get home.

No, the fact that it is poorly designed around the tastes of chavs is more telling.

Hmm. Mine date back to when they were made by Falcom - and are mainly combination metric spanners. The finish is superb, and they are all a good fit. Now I don't abuse tools by doing things like putting scaffold tubing over them - if a nut is that tight I'll use my impact driver. ;-)
But I'm not quite sure who makes better? In the few contempory consumer tests I'd read they were as good as anything.

It's irrelevant. Any good quality hand tool like a spanner should last a lifetime unless abused. Now screwdrivers with a lifetime warranty would be some use...
