Anyone Else Struggling to Get Going?

Hi all

Just an observation really, but I am having great difficulty to motivate myself and get DIYing again this year. Maybe it's the scale of the next job, the kitchen :(. Any non-addictive drug recommendations welcome - only joking!!

Don't get me wrong I haven't been completely idle - doing planning work on kitchen layouts etc. Changing planning application for perimeter fence. Not quite the same as knocking holes, running cables and plumbing though.

This may sound a bit daft but I'm serious... Drink more water. Simple. I've been feeling lethargic for years, the get up and go gone. Recently I took to keeping a bottle of tap water on my desk, at room temperature so I can knock it back whenever I feel the slightest bit thirsty. At first I thought it was a coincidence that my motivation had reappeared and the lethargy gone. But a little Googling revealed that lack of water is one of the causes of fatigue and lethargy and that drinking enough water can fix the problem. Simple but effective. The only side effect of this "non-addictive drug" is needing a pee all the time :-(

It always starts with me just in the run up to Christmas and eases when the days start to stretch .

Are you sure its the water doing it? I would have thought the amount of exercise from getting up of your butt and going the toilet often is stimulating the muscles back into a state of strength ie Laziness or couch potatoe syndrome. ;-)

Buy a new router. Always works for me. R.

You could be right :-) Since drinking an extra three litres of water a day I'm forever having to go. It's the waking up at night needing a pee that is the most irritating aspect though. Especially with a freezing cold bedroom. Brrrr!

I'm sick as a dog at the moment, but I did still manage to get started this week on a new shed project...

I think I saw recently on the internet that research showed that this keeping the fluid levels up was a just a myth. But then you can find what you want if you are prepared to google for long enough.

I'm just about reaching the end of hibernation season, amazing what a difference some light through the curtains makes to a morning, still getting dark before I arrive home at night though :-(

Had a urine dip for diabetes recently?

This is not an accurate way of testing. If you have had a drink the day before, you will test positive. I have done this for most of my life and passed the 3 boring hours of blood sugar tolerance monitoring every time. A better way, in my experience, is listen to your optician.
