5mm (thickness) white plastic strip for shower screen

Hi All,

I need a white plastic strip to go under the bottom edge of shower screen to sit between the screen and shower tray lip. The dimensions are as follows:-

main shower screen is 1120mm wide (encloses approx 3/4 of a walk-in shower tray) with a small side panel thickness of glass is 8mm thick (and is held in place by an upright metal frame and support arm)

Normally the main screen is sealed along the bottom edge (to the top lip of the shower tray) with silicon sealant, a common strategy - but I need to raise the main screen by 5mm to get the side panel to align with its fixing.

Any ideas? A strip that clipped over the glass (an 8mm trough in effect) would be ideal as I could just insert a plastic strip into the slot to make up the height adjustment of 5mm.

Thanks, Tom

Maybe something that a DG company might use if you could persuade them to sell you a piece .

If I understand your description correctly, we have just such a strip/channel clipped under our shower door. This has an additional channel inside the door to act as a "gutter" and encourage water back into the shower tray (rather than just running down the door, underneath and out onto the floor). I think the door closure was supplied by Aquadart (already existing when we bought the place).

If flat will do, it's one of many common profiles used in plastic cladding and PVC window trimming. Look in your local yellow pages for plastic cladding. A common size is 25mm x 6mm. It cuts cleanly and can be grooved with a router. Both Wickes and B&Q usually carry some stock, but you're quite likely to find a specialist stockist in your area.

Thanks for the replies - I'll get onto looking into these asap and I'll see what B&Q has to offer.
