2 pir's to 1 light in a passage way?

  • posted

is it possible to wire 2 pir's to one light in the middle of an outside passage way one pir at the bottom the other at the top so as i walk through the gate at the top the light comes on and i will trigger the other passive at the bottom.or would it be better to treat them as 2 seperate units and insall 2 lights? i suppose what i am getting at is it safe to have the both pir's sending power to the light at the same time?

thanks

Generally yes - just wire the PIRs in parallel. This will definitely work with PIRs that have relay outputs - ones with solid-state switching might potentially have problems, but will probably work OK.
