100W pearl BC/ES light bulbs

CPC seem to be selling them, and say they're in stock...

LP0028903 (ES) (£4.25 plus VAT for 10) LP0029803 (BC) (£2.78 plus VAT for 10)

The ES ones are a bit extortionate.

Prices until 1st October, then knock the 03 off the end and they'll probably still be there but a bit higher in price.

I must say I'm tempted to stock up for the Ebay bonanza that will occur once they are no longer available anywhere. Remember the prices that T&E cable in the old colours went for after it was officially banned?

Who is CPC .... obviously not the Craven Potholing Club

CPC are part of the Farnell Group now. They used to be an independent electronic components supplier, but now they sell just about everything from plumbing supplies to toy helicopters, as well as electronic components.

But actually, it's not 100 watt pearl light bulbs that are the issue. They are still available from many places, including the cash and carry that my wife uses for her cafe supplies. It's 60 watt pearls that you can't get anywhere now, although there do appear to be some online suppliers still.

I was hoping that when they joined Farnell, I'd be able to order Farnell and CPC parts in one order, but it's never happened. They use the same website, but other than that, they might as well be separate companies.

Yes indeed Andrew. Likewise here, but have to order from each separately. Have you noticed in recent months, how much stuff at Farnell is out of stock, often with very long lead times ? You have to be careful to look really closely at you order before hitting the "confirm" button, to make sure that no items are showing as OOS. Sign of the times, I guess. Inventory is dead money. Shame though. They've always been very good in that respect up until recently. Lately, I've gone back to RS who, whilst being perhaps a little more expensive, do seem to maintain their stock levels better ...
