What's the deal with natural-gas-powered air conditioner compressors?

With the cost of electricity going through the roof (and with nat-gas prices at rock bottom) - are there any cost-effective nat-gas-powered A/C compressors available for the residential market in US/Canada at this point?

York used to make one.... not real efficient tho. Assuming you have nat gas available, I would recommend a 15+ SEER Dual Fuel/hybrid system... that will give you the best of both worlds, the lowest utility usage, and the best comfort levels.
