Hi my boyfriend bought a bench and chairs of untreated wood and does not want to stain or paint it thinking it will just 'age' nicely. Sadly he won't listen to the fact that it will warp, mold and possibly become infected with insects if untreated. This message can't come from me though he WILL however listen to experts so could anyone kindly rely to what happens if you leave fully u treated wood outside (as outdoor furniture) thank you!

What kind of wood. Some will weather nicely, others just rot.
Depends on the wood. Some woods will last 50 years with no treatment, others will start to deteriorate in a couple of years.
First, he might be right, some woods do age nicely and last for years.
Second, you might be right and when the rot comes to pass, he will discover that you have wisdom beyond your years and he will respect your opinions much more.
However, there is a deeper issue here. If he doesn't listen to you but will listen to strangers on the web, you guys either need to work on your relationship or you need to walk away and find someone who will love and respect you for the wise, caring and beautiful person that you are.
...unless, of course, he is right about the wood.
