Tim-Bor Termite Treatment Costs

I have a 2600 square foot house in Hawaii. The local termite company wants $2300 to treat it with Tim-bor. That sounds excessive to me since the chemical itself is available for $80/50 pounds [covers 10,000 square feet surface area].

The salesman suggested the product would just be sprayed/painted on. Even allowing for a couple hundred pounds of Tim-Bor, I'm thinking this is a labor charge of $2,000.

How much do termite company's charge elsewhere?

Thanks for any comments.

Sounds very excessive. If you want I can have a lady who owns a Pest control company in Hawaii email you...don't remember which island...but she will shoot straight for you and probably can give you recommendations on who to use on the different islands.

I myself have never treated a whole house with Timbor, and usually don't charge existing customers when treating an exposed area with it. It's cheap stuff.

It is a very tidious job and you have to treat every inch of the wood for an effective result. The labor it self is extremely hard when you have to crawl in attics or under the house, something your average homeowner wouldn?t want to do.
