Dude, didn't you ask this question and people said you needed to provide more information? You still do.
When you're finished "thinking of remodeling" the basement, and you get into the planning stages, you'll get serious and pick up the damn phone. It won't kill you. It won't kill the contractor - they don't get every job they take a look at, so suck it up and call one.

B). There were two very similar questions posted recently, which also left out critical information, and that's why I confused the three. The fact that the other posters had your screenname, used your exact wording and live in your house also confused me. You started three separate threads, titled: remodel?, basement question, and basement remodel using the exact same post each time.
C). I don't understand how you can ask for "good ballpark estimates" when you leave out the most basic information. Reread you post, any one will do since they're all the same, and ask yourself why anyone would bother to answer a price question when there isn't even an indication of the size of the area.
D). You're wasting your time even if you gave the exact area. There are so many variables that the ballpark could be plus or minus 200%. In other words a meaningless number. A meaningless number will not help you make anything other than a bad decision.
E). Even if you get a "perfect" number in response to your post, it's still not useful unless the guy giving the number is going to do the construction. Otherwise, what are you going to do when your local contractor gives an estimate that isn't as attractive as the "perfect" one? Tell him that his price is higher than some random guy's on the internet who had never seen your house? If so, be prepared to be laughed at in the face.
F). My original advice still stands. Pick up the phone and call someone.
RA- as ricodjour said dont Email me, especaily with your "Asshole " response B - is it a 100sq ft basement or 1500sq ft. kinda logical nobody can price anything without size C local has ecerything to do with price

If you'd taken half of the amount of time to think about your original question as you've spent defending your mistaken belief about your posting frequency, you _might_ have gotten some useful information.
