Plumber, Drywaller, or Contractor?

Bedroom adjacent to bathroom has black mold at base of wall. On other side of the wall is the bathtub/shower. Whose the right professional for assessing the extent of the water damage and making necessary repairs?

First stop is a plumber to stop a leak, if there is one. Remove the drywall yourself to get a visual check. Plumber to repair, then a drywaller or capable handyman to do the patch.

get a good handyman and he'll handle the whole thing. Need to find out where the mold came from though.

Is it wet? Are you sure you have a leak? You might not. A handy man could likely do all. Don't get caught up in all this toxic mold crap. if someone recommends guys in white suits showing up move on.

Really need to see what's inside the wall. If there's mildew on the bedroom wall then there may be rot inside the wall.

If there's no leak then there maybe inadequate waterproofing on the bathroom side or the tub may be improperly levelled.
