over the range microwave

this microwave trips out a 15 amp breaker after 4-5 minutes.,does new code call for dedicated 20 amp line?

Its not so much a matter of code. What wattage is the unit. A dedicated 15 amp circuit is good for a max of 12 amps. Most over the stove units will require a dedicated 20 amp circuit

You have something wrong with your microwave. Or a really really high wattage one (unlikely). Easier to just get a new one and put it on it's own circuit.

What does your use&care manual say?
